“Alex”

The Leigh Sakoda foundation celebrated the holidays by making a very important grant to a 19 year old woman with a very rare bone cancer first diagnosed in her upper skull. She has had multiple surgeries as well as radiation therapy over the course of several years. Due to the severity of treatment near her brain, she has had significant neurological disability which has posed challenges to her care. She lives with her mother and older sister, and her father is deceased. Her mother is a nurse and has only been able to work a limited schedule to attend to her care needs.
