“Steph”

The Leigh Sakoda Foundation celebrated Leigh’s birthday by making a very important grant to a 38 year old in Connecticut who was diagnosed w/ Primary Mediastinal Large B Cell Lymphoma, a very rare disease.  She has a two year old daughter and has been the primary breadwinner of her household. Her initial medical challenges required a hysterectomy after a very challenging pregnancy.  Her most recent cancer treatment recently included a surgery to remove fluid around her heart and her husband has had to reduce his work hours in order to take care of their family.  The family can barely meet their mortgage and this gift will allow they to meet their monthly bills and well as their copays and deductibles.
